It was established in 1997 within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. In 2008, with the separation of the Faculty of Science and Humanities within Selcuk University, it became one of the departments of the Faculty of Science. The department offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. The department is trained by a scientific staff of 9 people, including about 101 undergraduate students, 8 graduate students, 14 graduate students, 3 professors, 2 associate professors, 2 graduate students and 2 research associates. The Statistics department consists of statistical theory, applied statistics, operations research, probability theory and stochastic processes as well as risk analysis. The basic training consists of the first and second training. In addition to the compulsory courses, the compulsory elective courses, which are offered to the students according to their own preferences, have created a versatile addition to the course.
