The Department of Animal Science is an undergraduate program in which university education is given in the fields of animal production, breeding and breeding feeds and animal nutrition, and biometrics and genetics.
Purpose
The purpose of the Animal Science undergraduate program is to train Zootechnist Agricultural Engineers equipped with up-to-date knowledge, techniques and technologies in the fields of raising, breeding, care-feeding, feed industry and animal breeding in order to produce animal products that our society needs and have export potential. At the same time, it is foreseen that zootechnists will contribute to animal husbandry science at the regional, national and international level by planning and carrying out basic and applied research and R&D activities as scientists in the field of animal husbandry in the future. Thus, in the Animal Science undergraduate program, it is aimed to train the basic professional staff in the field of animal production, which is needed by private sector livestock enterprises, feed industry and related sub-sectors, public institutions and universities.
Our Vision
To raise the level of consumption of animal products in our country to the level of developed countries and to train Universal Animal Technician Agricultural Engineers with advanced technical and technological equipment for the production of rational and sufficient amounts of animal products with the quality accepted in international markets.
Our Mission
To implement student-centered, qualified undergraduate education programs within the European Union Education Area, in line with the Bologna process and within the framework of national qualifications, in order to train Zootechnical Agricultural Engineers equipped with up-to-date information on animal production types, animal breeding and feed industry technologies.
