Program Description:
The Banking and Insurance program, which will train qualified professional staff to work in the banking and insurance sectors, which have a large place in the financial system of our country, provides two-year, theoretical and practical education based on workplace practice at the associate degree level. Admission and Registration Requirements:
Student admission to the first year of the Banking and Insurance Program is based on the results of the selection and placement organized by the Student Selection and Placement Center. The first registration procedures of the students accepted to the program are carried out on the days determined by the Student Affairs Department and with the approval of the Rectorate. Students admitted to the university must fulfill the following conditions in order for their registration to be finalized. a) To submit a diploma or official document showing that they have graduated from high school or an equivalent school, b) Not to be disabled in terms of health status and military service or similar aspects. Those who are accepted and who meet the above conditions are enrolled upon providing the other documents requested by the Student Affairs Department. The course registration procedures of the students who register for the first semester of the University are carried out directly by the Registrar's Office.
Recognition of Prior Learning:
Students who enroll in our university may request to be exempted from the courses they have succeeded in the higher education institutions they have previously studied. For this, they must submit their transcripts and course contents with a petition to the relevant unit within the first week of the enrolled year.
Graduation Requirements:
At the end of two years, a total of 120 ECTS must be completed, the graduation average must be at least 2.0 and 30 working days of compulsory internship must be completed.
Principles of Assessment and Evaluation:
Students are required to register online at the beginning of the semester and attend at least 70% of the theoretical courses and at least 80% of the applied courses in order to take the general exam. Students are subjected to at least one midterm and one general exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam (scores obtained from measurement tools such as homework, practice can also be added to a part of the midterm exam grade) to the success grade is 40% and the contribution of the general exam is 60%. All exams are evaluated out of 100 points. A student who receives one of the grades AA, BA, BB, CB, CC from a course is considered to have succeeded in that course. DC, DD grades in order for a student to be considered successful in these courses, the semester / year weighted grade point average must be 2.00.
Employment Opportunities:
Graduates of the Banking and Insurance Program can continue their careers in the general directorates, regional directorates and branches of public and private sector banks, insurance agencies and insurance broker offices, which are the marketing channels of insurance companies, general directorates and regional directorates of private pension companies, intermediary institutions operating in money and capital markets, leasing and factoring companies, finance and accounting departments of different sectors. Graduates who want to start their own business can open an insurance agency provided that they fulfill the legal regulations, and graduates who qualify to be an adjuster can work as an insurance adjuster.
Transition to Higher Degree Programs :
Candidates who have completed their associate degree education can apply to undergraduate programs determined by ÖSYM by taking the Vertical Transfer Examination conducted by ÖSYM.
