The “ITurkish History and Architecture in the Rota of North of the Black Sea and Silk Road (Seljuk Architecture) International Symposium” organized by Seljuk University Seljuk Research Institute and Yeditepe University was held. The importance of Seljuk architecture in the fields of culture and engineering was emphasized at the symposium.

Speaking at the symposium, Seljuk University Vice President Prof. Dr. Haldun Soydal emphasized the importance of Seljuk architecture, which has great historical and cultural value. Soydal said, “The Seljuk Empire left very valuable cultural heritage not only in Anatolia but also in a wide geography, and this heritage has made its impact felt in many areas around the world. Seljuk architecture draws attention not only with its aesthetic dimension, but also with its advanced approaches in engineering and technology. Seljuk architecture is a unique treasure that reflects the cultural richness of not only Turkey, but also the Middle East and Central Asia.”

Yeditepe University Vice President Prof. Dr. Ece Ceylan expressed their pleasure in organizing the symposium, which is the fourth of the pre-14th century Turkish architecture studies, as the Faculty of Architecture.

Seljuk Research Institute Director Prof. Dr. Mustafa Demirci said, “The architectural and artistic works left behind by the Seljuks are the most valuable historical objects in the world. The price of making these lands our homeland is that we were subjected to two hundred years of Crusades and paid a heavy price.”

Yeditepe University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Ayşe Gülçin Küçükkaya said that the studies were carried out comprehensively and that studies were carried out on museums and structures, especially focusing on Turkish traces in Uzbekistan, Iran and the Caucasus.
