The Selçuk University Health Sciences Institute held an online meeting to connect researchers and students with graduate education opportunities abroad. The meeting, held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 4:00 PM, provided an international platform with the participation of Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Memili, Professor and Director of Cooperative Agricultural Research at Prairie View A&M University.

The meeting, which aimed to expand international academic collaboration and student education opportunities abroad, was moderated by Prof. Dr. Fatma Hümeyra Yerlikaya Aydemir, Director of the Selçuk University Health Sciences Institute, and Prof. Dr. Esma Menevşe, Deputy Director of the Institute.

Opening the meeting, Prof. Dr. Fatma Hümeyra Yerlikaya Aydemir stated that the institute has achieved the "Orpheus" label of quality in the field of health sciences since 2021, emphasizing the contributions of students and faculty. Yerlikaya Aydemir stated that she would co-moderate the webinar with Prof. Dr. Esma Menevşe and presented a resume to introduce Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Memili to the participants.

Prof. Dr. Memili provided detailed information about graduate programs, scholarship opportunities, and research opportunities at Prairie View A&M University. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of transdisciplinary studies due to the complex nature of today's scientific problems. She emphasized the need to develop strong expertise in basic sciences and the ability to collaborate with other fields. She also emphasized the critical role that data science and artificial intelligence play in today's research.

CHALLENGES AND SCHOLARSHIPS IN STUDYING ABROAD

Memili stated that one of the biggest challenges they faced while studying abroad was not being sufficiently prepared. They emphasized improving language skills, gaining a strong research background, and building a strong academic resume. Regarding scholarship resources, he said, "There are numerous scholarship opportunities available. Professors and research centers are seeking graduate programs. Scholarship programs provided by universities, governments, and private institutions in Europe and America offer significant financial support."

Prof. Dr. Fatma Hümeyra Yerlikaya Aydemir stated that Selçuk University will continue to offer such platforms to its students in line with its internationalization goals. Prof. Dr. Esma Menevşe stated that the meeting served as a guiding resource for students and researchers.
