Academic Year Opening Ceremony Held at Our Faculty
The 2025–2026 Academic Year Opening Ceremony was held at Selçuk University Faculty of Law. The ceremony was attended by Konya Chief Public Prosecutor Cuma Çoban and President of the Regional Administrative Court Nazım Taha Koçak, both of whom are graduates of Selçuk University.
In his speech, Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Haldun Soydal stated that the Faculty of Law is an institution that has produced distinguished graduates who have made significant contributions to Türkiye’s justice system. Noting that graduates serve in various fields of public administration and the judiciary, particularly the Court of Cassation, Prof. Soydal emphasized the importance of human capital, stating: “It should never be forgotten that there is no force stronger than human capital. Universities are the main institutions that cultivate this human capital. With more than 401,000 graduates and our current academic staff, our university is a very strong institution.”
Prof. Berrin Akbulut (Dean) stated that Selçuk University Faculty of Law ranks among the leading law faculties in Türkiye, with its qualified education approach, nearly half a century of institutional identity, physical infrastructure, and campus facilities among the 83 law faculties in the country. Emphasizing their dedication to educating the legal professionals of the future, Prof. Akbulut said: “Studying at the Faculty of Law is not merely a choice; it is also a great responsibility. Law is not only about rules; it is also about how you interpret and apply those rules. When you do what is right and fair, you act in accordance with the law.”
Following the opening speeches, Prof. Nezihe Binnur Tulukcu delivered the first lecture of the academic year on “Labour Law,” while Prof. Musa Aygül presented a lecture titled “Legal Order.”
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of gifts to Konya Chief Public Prosecutor Cuma Çoban and President of the Regional Administrative Court Nazım Taha Koçak.
