Participating in the 13th Mekteb-i Adliye Moot Court Competition, which was hosted by Ankara University Faculty of Law this year with the support of TÜBİTAK, the "De Lege Lata" team, consisting of our Faculty students, advanced to the semi-finals and was entitled to receive the third-place award.

Supervised by Prof. Dr. Murat Aydın, our students Kağan Meler, Selin Yardımcı, Semih Demirtaş, and Zeki Ersoy left many competitors behind in the competition attended by 134 teams from various law faculties in Turkey and succeeded in becoming the 3rd team receiving the highest points from the jury. Our Dean, Prof. Dr. Berrin Akbulut, congratulated our team that ranked third. In the competition, the team named Son Celse from Istanbul University Faculty of Law took first place, while the Kırıkkale University Faculty of Law team Themis Çocuklar came in second.

What is the Mekteb-i Adliye Moot Court Competition? The two-stage competition begins with the written submission of plaintiff or complainant petitions based on a case text written by a legal expert in the field, according to the chosen branch of law. In the first stage, the teams only submit the statement of claim, and only the finalist teams write the statement of defense against each other's statement of claim. The petitions are scored according to the written stage scoring criteria, which are also created by legal experts. The four teams receiving the highest scores are re-evaluated among themselves under the name of "semi-final" according to the same criteria. As a result of this evaluation, the two teams with the highest scores qualify for the final oral stage. In the final oral stage, the defenses to be made in accordance with the rules specified in the directive are evaluated by the final juries. The team receiving the highest score is the winner of the Mekteb-i Adliye Moot Court Competition.
