2024–2025 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony Held at Our Faculty
The 2024–2025 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony of our Faculty was held at the Sultan Alparslan Cultural Center with wide participation. Young legal professionals who successfully completed their education in both the regular and evening education programs received their diplomas and took the professional oath, taking their first steps into their legal careers. The ceremony was held in two sessions, morning and afternoon, and was attended by Rector of İskenderun Technical University Prof. Dr. Mehmet Duruel, Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ak, our Dean Prof. Dr. Berrin Akbulut, vice deans, academic and administrative staff, students, and their families. Following the screening of the university promotional film, a city promotion video featuring Konya folk songs, prepared by the Konya Bar Association’s “Konya İçin Çal” team, which includes graduates of our Faculty, was presented.
“THE EDUCATION YOU HAVE RECEIVED WILL LIGHT YOUR WAY”
Delivering the opening speech, our Dean Prof. Dr. Berrin Akbulut addressed the graduates and said:“Today, you are experiencing one of the most beautiful and special days of your lives. You are graduating from this Faculty as more knowledgeable, better equipped, and more mature individuals than when you first arrived. Here, you have not only gained academic knowledge and skills, but also become individuals who respect human rights, embrace universal principles, possess a sense of conscience, question, empathize, and have self-confidence. You have acquired the strength and ability to achieve success in life. The education and culture you have received here will always guide you and illuminate your path.”
PROF. DR. AK: “THE AUTHORITY YOU HOLD IS NOT POWER, BUT A TRUST”
Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ak stated that law is not merely the language of legislation, but also the embodiment of society’s memory and sense of justice. He addressed the graduates with the following message: “We are now individuals who will look at a case not only from the perspective of the parties involved, but also through the lens of justice and fairness. The authority we hold is not power, but a trust; the knowledge we possess is not a privilege, but a responsibility. Let us never forget that the peace and future of the society we live in will be shaped by the trust placed in the law and in those who represent it. While practicing our profession, let us keep conscience alongside knowledge, humanity alongside law, and virtue alongside success.”

Following the speeches by the top students of the regular and evening education programs, graduation certificates and plaques were presented to the highest-ranking students: Elif Balcı, Güler Nur Türktoy Çakır, and Baturalp Güner from the regular program; and Hatice Nur Büyükyaprak, Gizem Kuşoğlu, and Yasin Sarı from the evening education program.
