The Deverân Traditional Turkish Arts Exhibition, prepared by the faculty and students of the Traditional Turkish Arts Department of Selçuk University Faculty of Fine Arts, was presented to art lovers as part of the 751st Anniversary of the Passing of Mevlana International Commemoration Ceremonies.

The exhibition, curated by Selçuk University Faculty of Fine Arts Lecturer Ersan Perçem, in collaboration with the Selçuk University Mevlana Research Institute, Faculty of Fine Arts, and Dilek Sabancı State Conservatory, features 50 works prepared by faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students. The exhibition will be open to visitors at the Selçuk University Museum until December 17, 2024. The exhibition includes works in the fields of calligraphy, illumination, tile work, penmanship, and carpets/rugs.

A Sufi Music Concert was also performed by Selçuk University Dilek Sabancı State Conservatory Lecturer Mücahit Özdemir and his students as part of the exhibition's opening.

Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Haldun Soydal stated that the university is not only a large family but also a significant higher education institution with dynamism, strength, and added value. He noted that they house the first Mevlana Research Institute in the world and in Turkey, adding, “I am happy to be a member of such a strong family as Selçuk University. I believe that together we will achieve even greater things in the future. I would also like to thank our esteemed professors and participants for this event.”

Mevlana Research Institute Director Prof. Dr. Nuri Şimşekler said that the university will present 17 events to visitors coming to Konya as part of the 751st Anniversary of Mevlana's Passing International Commemoration Ceremonies. He stated that this was the first event organized within the university, noting that the name "Deverân" means movement, and thanked those who contributed to the organization of the event.

Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Ali Atıf Polat also stated that the faculty members and students presented a valuable and original exhibition consisting of 5 areas to art lovers.
