Open Access Agreement between TÜBİTAK-ULAKBİM and Springer Nature, notification!
Within the scope of the EKUAL Project carried out by TUBITAK ULAKBIM, access to more than 2,300 electronic journals belonging to the Springer Nature publishing house is provided. The existing Springer Nature agreement 2022-2024, which is an access (Read) agreement, has been converted into a “Read & Publish” model starting from January 1, 2024 to cover the period 2024-2026.
Within the scope of this second “open access article publishing agreement” at the national level, all EKUAL member institutions in Turkey will continue to provide access to more than 2,300 e-journals of Springer Nature publishing house. However, “Original Article”, “Review Article” and “Continuing Education” type publications of the authors of EKUAL Member institutions in the Springer Nature Hybrid Journals of the Q1 and Q2 Group (CLICK FOR THE LIST OF JOURNALS) published on the Web of Science (SCI, SSCI, AHCI) will be covered by AE support. It will be possible to publish “Open Access” publications submitted and accepted to the Springer Nature hybrid journals within the scope, whose responsible author is a Member of EKUAL, without paying an Article Processing Fee (APC), if the author requests.
Within the scope of this agreement, there is an annual quota for publishing AE articles. In the event that the annual AE article publication quota is exhausted, if the author of the relevant publication wishes to have his/her article published as an AE article, he/she or the funding institution will have to pay the APC fee.
According to the terms of the agreement, there will be no "AE article quota allocation" for institutions. If requested by the author, the publication of the corresponding author whose article is accepted in the journals in question will be ranked according to the order of arrival of the publication, and if there is a quota, ULAKBIM will approve the articles that meet the criteria for AE publication.
The list of journals (valid between 01.01.2024 - 31.12.2024) for AE article publication support is attached. The Q1/Q2 list to be published in JCR on 01.07.2024 will be valid until 31.12.2025.
It will be sufficient for the corresponding author of the publication, which is in the above-mentioned journal group and publication type and for which AE support will be provided if there is a quota, to be an employee of the EKUAL Member institution and to mention the name of the member institution under his/her name in the publication.
It is important to use institutional e-mails when applying for an article in order for AE approval processes to run smoothly.
What Authors Need to Know:
- The researcher must be the corresponding author of the article.
- Article types covered by the agreement: Original Paper, Review Paper, Continuing Education.
- After the article is accepted for publication, researchers are required to introduce themselves to the system during the author identification process. In this process, your researcher must have a primary affiliation to the selected institution.
