Maturidi School: A Legacy Connecting Civilizations Through the Values of Knowledge, Thought, and Tolerance - Information Letter

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PD-102 dated March 14, 2025, “On the wide celebration of the 1155th anniversary of Imam Maturidi’s birth”, the Imam Maturidi International Scientific Research Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Committee on Religious Affairs, and other partner organizations invite you to participate in the international scientific competition dedicated to the 1155th anniversary of the birth of the great theological scholar and thinker Imam Abu Mansur Maturidi.

Foreign scholars, specialists, doctoral students, and researchers wishing to participate in this competition should submit popular-scientific treatises on the topic “Maturidi school: a legacy connecting civilizations through the values of knowledge, thought, and tolerance” of no less than 64 pages in English, Arabic, Russian, or Turkish languages from November 10, 2025 to December 20, 2025.

AUTHOR GUIDELINES
Length: Between 48 to 64 pages on A4-sized paper.
Font size: 14 pt for English, Russian, and Turkish; 20 pt for Arabic.
Line spacing: 1.5 for English, Russian, and Turkish; 1.0 for Arabic.
Margins: 2 cm top/bottom, 3 cm left, 1.5 cm right.
Citations in the treatise must follow APA formatting standards.
A list of references used in the work must be included at the end.

The right to translate the selected treatises into Uzbek and other languages and to use them in academic research will be granted to the Imam Maturidi International Scientific Research Center, while preserving authorship rights.

Candidates wishing to participate must send the following documents to the above email address between November 10 and December 20, 2025:
Application for participation in the competition (in free form);
Participant questionnaire (CV);
Copies of passport and diploma(s).

Evaluation:
The submitted works will be evaluated by a prestigious Jury of leading scholars from Uzbekistan and abroad by December 31, 2025, based on the following criteria, with a 100-point system:
Relevance of the topic
Scientific novelty
Depth of analysis
Practical significance.

Rewards:
The winners of the competition will be awarded diplomas valuable prizes:
• 1st place: Laptop
• 2nd place: Tablet
• 3rd place: Mobile phone
In addition, winners of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places will be invited on an organized tour of Uzbekistan's historic cities, including Samarkand, Bukhara, and Tashkent. All travel expenses will be covered by the Organizing Committee.
