Erasmus+ Student Mobility for Studies (Outgoing Students)

Erasmus+ Student Mobility (Studies & Traineeships)

The Erasmus+ program offers two main pathways for full-time enrolled students at Selçuk University to gain international experience: Mobility for Studies (completing a part of your education at a partner university) and Mobility for Traineeships (gaining professional work experience at an enterprise or organization abroad).

📌 Key Differences & Rules

  • Mobility for Studies: Requires an existing bilateral agreement between Selçuk University and the host university. Students must take a course load equivalent to 30 ECTS per semester. Credits successfully completed abroad are fully recognized.

  • Mobility for Traineeships: Does not require a bilateral agreement. Students must independently find a host enterprise, institution, or research center and obtain a Letter of Acceptance. The traineeship requires full-time working hours (e.g., 30-40 hours/week).

  • Duration: Both activities must last between 2 to 12 months.

  • Recent Graduates: While graduating students cannot participate in Studies, they can participate in Traineeships within 12 months after their graduation (provided they apply while still enrolled in their final year).

  • Grade Restriction: First-year students in associate and bachelor's degree programs (including preparatory school) cannot directly travel. However, they can apply during their first year to participate in the mobility during their second year.

✅ Who Can Apply? (Minimum Requirements)

  • Being a full-time enrolled student in formal education at Selçuk University.

  • A minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.20/4.00 for associate and bachelor's degree students.

  • A minimum CGPA of 2.50/4.00 for master's and PhD students.

  • Obtaining the minimum passing score from the Foreign Language Exam organized by our university.

🗺️ Application and Mobility Process

  1. Announcement and Application: Online applications are submitted through the Turkish National Agency portal (E-Government / Career Gate) during the announced application dates. A call for applications is published once a year in January.

  2. Acceptance Letter (For Traineeships Only): Students applying for the traineeship mobility must secure and upload an official Letter of Acceptance from their host organization during the application period.

  3. Foreign Language Exam: Students who meet the initial requirements take the mandatory language exam.

  4. Evaluation: The "Erasmus Success Score" is calculated (50% CGPA + 50% Language Score).

  5. Placement:

    • For Studies: Students are placed according to their ranking and the available quotas of partner universities.

    • For Traineeships: Students with valid acceptance letters are granted mobility status based on their ranking and the total budget allocated to our university.

💶 Grant Amounts (Monthly)

A standard grant is allocated to support students with their living expenses. To encourage professional experience, Traineeship grants are 150 € higher per month than Study grants. (Amounts are determined by the Turkish National Agency.)
