Prof. Dr. Fulya Öztaş, Head of the Department of Child Care and Youth Services at Selçuk University Vocational School of Health Services, made an important discovery together with her husband Prof. Dr. Haydar Öztaş. The plant discovered by the Öztaş couple was added to the world of science with the name "oztasii" epithet (Konya Morbaşı).

Prof. Dr. Fulya Öztaş, Lecturer at the Department of Child Care and Youth Services at Selçuk University Vocational School of Health Services, and Prof. Dr. Haydar Öztaş, Lecturer at the Department of Biology at Necmettin Erbakan University Ahmet Keleşoğlu Faculty of Education, photographed the plant they encountered on a hill with an altitude of 1,570 in the mountainous regions of Konya between 2021-2023. As a result of samples taken from the plant, detailed laboratory studies, herbarium and literature comparisons, it was revealed that it was a new species.

The scientific identification of the plant was carried out by Prof. Dr. İsmail Eker from Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University and Assoc. Dr. Hüseyin Eroğlu and Assoc. Dr. Süleyman Mesut Pınar from Van Yüzüncü Yıl University. The epithet "oztasii" was given as the species name in memory of Prof. Dr. Fulya Öztaş and Prof. Dr. Haydar Öztaş. The plant was named as "Konya Morbasi" in Turkish.

The scientific study on the plant was published in Phytotaxa, a plant systematics journal.
