A declaration of goodwill was signed between Selçuk University (SU) and Indonesia Pendidikan Muhammadiyah Sorong University (UNIMUDA).

In his speech, Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said that Selçuk University is one of the most powerful institutions in Turkey with more than 70 thousand students. Prof. Dr. Aksoy stated that it has pioneered the establishment of many universities in the region and said, "We are a university that is the research base of the region. Within the scope of YÖK Anatolia Project, we support Bitlis Eren University and Ardahan University in terms of education. We are also among the HEC Research and Candidate Research Universities. Nearly 3 thousand foreign students are studying at Selçuk University. The majority of foreign students coming to Konya prefer Selçuk University because of its quality of education, its deep-rooted history and the fact that it has proven itself. According to the data of Times Higher Education (THE), we are among the top 400 Asian universities and among the top 400 young universities under the age of 50. Internationalizing our university is one of our most important goals. We are also taking steps in this sense. The letter of intent that we will sign with you will also contribute to this vision of ours. Therefore, we are already excited that we will mutually exchange experiences."

Rector of Pendidikan Muhammadiyah Sorong University Dr. Rustamadji, M. Si. stated that as a university, they carry out studies in the fields of social education and health. Explaining that they are a university with ethnic, religious and cultural richness, Dr. Rustamadji, M. Si. said, "We were inspired by Turkey and Selçuk University during our visits. We want to apply the impressions we have gained in our university. We will be pleased to see you in our country. We hope that after signing the declaration of goodwill, we hope to carry out joint projects and studies."

After the speeches, Rector of Selçuk University Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy and Rector of Pendidikan Muhammadiyah Sorong University Dr. Rustamadji, M. Si. signed the declaration of goodwill.
