Academicians from Selçuk University, Necmettin Erbakan University, Konya Technical University, KTO Karatay University and Konya Food and Agriculture University said, "Those who trample human rights are rejected by science first and foremost!" held the "Support March for Gaza" with the theme. Academics who attended the march with their robes, silently and without banners, protested Israel's indiscriminate attacks in Gaza.

The march started in Kılıçarslan Square and ended in Mevlana Square. Selcuk University Rector Prof. took part in the walk. Dr. Metin Aksoy, Necmettin Erbakan University Rector Prof. Dr. Cem Zorlu, Konya Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, KTO Karatay University Rector Prof. Dr. Fevzi Rifat Ortaç, Selçuk University Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken, Prof. Dr. İlhan Çiftci and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat, General Secretary Prof. Dr. Kamil Beşoluk, academic and administrative staff, students and many citizens attended.

Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. In his statement regarding the march, Metin Aksoy said that Israel's indiscriminate attacks in Gaza for more than a month have reached an unacceptable level. Stating that Selçuk University and the universities in Konya condemn this disproportionate violence, which has turned into a genocide of a people, Prof. Dr. Aksoy stated that they wish the oppression against the people of Gaza to end as soon as possible.

Necmettin Erbakan University Rector Prof. Dr. Cem Zorlu, in his press statement on behalf of the universities, stated that the main thing for human beings is peace and survival. Stating that they call on the United Nations Security Council to stop obstructing international peace and security and fulfill its obligations, Prof. Dr. Zorlu said, “We invite the International Criminal Court to open an investigation as quickly as possible for the war crimes committed by Israel in Gaza. We invite universities, scientists, intellectuals, cultural and artistic people, and opinion leaders in different parts of the world to call more strongly for Israel to end its acts of violence against the civilian population of Gaza. We invite the world's conscientious journalists, business people and prominent people to stop the brutality that western media organizations are competing to legitimize. We invite all humanity to boycott Israeli products and brands that are known to directly or indirectly support this crime against humanity. We invite all countries of the world to take a common stance against these unconscionable attacks and to call for an immediate ceasefire and lasting peace. We declare that we respectfully support the struggle of Gazans to protect their most natural right to humane living and property rights, and that we will always be with them.” he said.
