Selcuk University (SU) Faculty of Architecture and Design 2021-2022 Academic Year Academic General Assembly Meeting was held with the participation of Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy.

Selcuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, at the meeting held in the Museum Building, said that Selçuk University is an important center in terms of science, education and culture. In this context expressing that they take care to develop all units within the University equally, Prof. Dr. Aksoy also stated that they attach a special value to the development of the Faculty of Architecture and Design. Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, “Selçuk University is a university that differs from other universities with its mission. We will either be or will be the locomotive of the region in terms of science, education and culture. Prof. Dr. Our teacher Erol Güngör served as the rector of our university. The person we took as an example in cultural and sociological terms was a great scientist and academician. He said, 'You can only transform this society at certain points and make it successful with education.' We are the most important institution that can do this. Our university is the patron university of the region. It is a center in terms of education, science, knowledge and culture. While we support it in terms of science, we care more than anything that it is a university that embraces our values ​​and concepts that make us who we are.”

Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design Prof. Dr. Nurgül Kılınç made evaluations on different subjects, especially academic and social studies, internship directives, course contents, and strategic plan. Stating that they give importance to extracurricular education as a faculty, Prof. Kılınç said, “Each of our departments organized many activities such as seminars, events and exhibitions for students without saying 'evening hours'. Because education is not only in the field of education. Our Landscape Architecture Department contributed to Merve Mercan Park. Our Interior Architecture Department cooperated with public institutions. Our Fashion Design Department carried out various social responsibility projects related to disabled individuals. With all our departments, including our Handicrafts Department, we have made an effort to contribute to both the society and the public institutions and organizations in Konya.”
