Undersecretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ankara Bahadır B. Nazarov visited Selçuk University (SU) Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy in his office.

Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said in his speech: "When we go to Central Asia, more precisely to Central Turkestan, we feel like we are in our homeland. I have lived with our brothers and sisters in the Turkic geography for 3 years. If we are lucky, we will go to Uzbekistan in November. God willing, we will make an agreement with Tashkent State Agricultural University in Uzbekistan. They have close connections with our Department of Agricultural Machinery and Technologies Engineering. They want to make an agreement with us. Our Faculty of Agriculture is also a strong faculty. YÖK directed us to them and we had the opportunity to establish a connection with them. We want the Turkic world to develop, strengthen and stand up at the same time. It should not be dependent on anyone. This is only possible through unity and information sharing. As universities, we hope that we will catch that change quickly through information sharing."

Nazarov stated that he has been living in Turkey for about 1.5 years and that he likes Konya very much and said, "We live in Turkey like our own homeland. It is a Muslim country and we have the same origin as two countries. We understand each other very well. Our culture is the same. That is why our agreements are developing faster."

SU International Student Selection Examination (SÜYOS) Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdulkadir Gölcü said that they conduct exams in sister countries in order to recruit foreign students to Selçuk University and Uzbekistan is among these countries.

After the visit, Nazarov and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gölcü met with students from Uzbekistan studying at Selçuk University in the Senate Hall.
