Selcuk University Faculty of Tourism 2022 – 2023 Academic Year Academic General Assembly was held with the participation of Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy. Emphasizing that various games are played on young people, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, “As Selcuk University, we are working towards our essence, identity, national and spiritual values.”

In the Academic General Assembly of the Faculty of Tourism of Selcuk University in the 2022 - 2023 Academic Year, Dean Prof. Dr. Onur Köksal gave information about the faculty.

“WE HAVE TO THINK SCIENTIFICALLY, ACADEMIC”

Pointing out that they have brought about a great development and transformation in Selçuk University, Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said, “We have achieved significant rankings in research conducted by national and international ranking institutions. We strive to ensure that all our students benefit from educational opportunities equally. We aspired to the Islamic Solidarity Games and successfully hosted our event. We renewed our areas such as tennis court and swimming pool prepared for sportive events. Because we want Selcuk University to provide education at international standards. At what point are the education standards in the world evolving, at what point are they being discussed? Our academics should be trained in this field; they should not enter into local discussions because we have to think scientifically and academically. Only in this way can we lead the change of our society and our university.”

“OUR ACADEMICS SHOULD BE ROLE MODELS FOR OUR STUDENTS”

Expressing that various games are played on young people, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, “There are structures and groups that try to take away our young people, especially social media. We need to protect our youth more. While doing this, we should realize that classical methods are not valid. We must act in accordance with the expectations of the youth. We must be more vigilant than ever before. There are lies that are put forward to completely tear the society away from its essence. There are perverse ideologies. We know that our young people can get rid of all these negativities with the guidance and enlightenment of our academicians. As Selcuk University, we are working on our essence, identity, national and spiritual values. Our academics should also be role models for our students at this point.”
