Rector Aksoy met with young people at Volunteering Camp

Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy came together with students within the scope of the 6th Thematic Winter Camps organized with the theme of "Volunteerism" in Konya under the coordination of the General Directorate of Credit and Dormitories.

In his speech at the conference hall of Şemsi Tebrizi Student Dormitory, Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said that they are happy to host approximately 150 students from 60 provinces in Konya. Prof. Dr. Aksoy stated that Konya is not only a university city but also an important city that served as the seat of the Seljuks and that being an academic staff and student at Selçuk University is an achievement.

Prof. Dr. Aksoy stated that the work done voluntarily and the steps taken are priceless. Prof. Dr. Aksoy explained his undergraduate education and the work he carried out for civil society and gave advice to the students. Rector Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, "We share and act with the people in our heart geography. Our volunteerism is the love for the children of this homeland. It is for the youth of this country to reach much better places. We focus on ensuring that the children entrusted to us grow up in very good conditions, that the institutions entrusted to us provide very good services and serve in very good conditions. In an environment where the children of our martyrs and veterans have been orphaned in these lands by paying a price, we must make our services based on responsibility, goals and ideals. Whether you call it love or something else, in the case of volunteering, you are neither cold in the snow nor sweaty in the summer. We have also seen people who came out of this land and worked against this land. We see them today too. Our love is for the rise of this land and its children. While raising the children of these lands, we believe that they can do much better things. If we have been struggling to exist in these lands for a thousand years, the next century will be the next century of Turkey. The means of this is the very good upbringing and upbringing of our youth."

The program ended with the presentation of a gift by Konya Youth and Sports Provincial Director Abdurrahman Şahin to Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy after the question and answer session.
