Selçuk University (SU) Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy thanked the staff who offered tea to the drivers stranded on the road on February 10, 2022 due to weather conditions.

 

Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said in his speech at his office that they welcomed the behavior of the university staff for the citizens stranded on the road. Prof. Dr. Aksoy stated that the University is sensitive to social issues and reminded that the veterinarians working at the University also made significant contributions to the fight against the forest fire in Manavgat.

Prof. Dr. Aksoy stated that the university staff exhibited a kind behavior and congratulated them and added that they are planning to establish an "emergency disaster management office" in order to act effectively in social issues within the University.

Mustafa Özdemir, a staff member of the SU Personnel Department, said that they saw the vehicles waiting on the road for about 4-5 hours from the window and that they acted voluntarily, thinking that everyone could experience this situation.

 

After his speech, Aksoy presented certificates of appreciation to Selahattin Şen, Head of the Personnel Department of SU, Hasan Ali Büyükadam, Recep Gedizli, Ahmet Talha Düzenli, Mustafa Özdemir and Recep Özkan.

Selçuk University Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken, Prof. Dr. İlhan Çiftci, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat and Secretary General Prof. Dr. Kamil Beşoluk attended the certificate presentation ceremony.
