Selçuk University (SU) Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy presented certificates of appreciation to the teams that came 1st, 2nd and 3rd in TEKNOFEST Istanbul Aviation, Space and Technology Festival.

Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İlhan Çiftci hosted the Selçuk Med SOS Team, which won first place in the "health and first aid" category of the Technology for the Benefit of Humanity Competition, the Medar Team Team, which came second in the "educational technologies" category, and the Young Makers Team, which came third in the "agricultural technologies" category.

Selçuk Med SOS Team Advisor Specialist Sociologist Zehra Betül Şişman, Medar Team Team Advisor Prof. Dr. Nadire Ünver Doğan, Young Makers Team Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Yavuz Şeflek also attended the document presentation ceremony.

Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said in his speech that TEKNOFEST is one of the most prestigious competitions in Turkey. Stating that Selçuk University teams have achieved a significant success in this sense, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, "You have achieved firsts on behalf of our university. As Selçuk University, we took first, second and third place at TEKNOFEST for the first time at the same time. It was very important for us. You have shown us that universities should not lag behind technology in this period when universities attach great importance to digitalization on the international platform. This success came at a time when we attach great importance to internationalization. I hope that we will continue to pass on these success stories to younger generations under your leadership. Congratulations, you have made us proud and happy. Aziz Sancarlar is no stranger to these lands. We know that many Aziz Sancars have been raised in these lands. Our history, our nation has always witnessed them. We are not a nation or a society formed from scratch. We have an ancestor, a past. In these lands, science and knowledge were only covered with ashes; that ember is still going on. We are now trying to rekindle that ember. Any step towards domestic and national technology is invaluable for us."

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İlhan Çiftci congratulated the teams for their success and said, "I think that these successes will continue in the future. You have shown that success can be achieved. It is indeed a great achievement to be ranked. It was very important for us to achieve success in a pioneering and prominent festival such as TEKNOFEST. You made us experience this, we thank you all."

The ceremony ended with Prof. Dr. Aksoy and Prof. Dr. Çiftci presenting certificates of appreciation to the teams.
