Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy voted for the photographs taken by Anadolu Agency correspondents and photojournalists in the categories of "news", "sports" and "environment - life" in 2022.

Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy selected photographs for the annual "Photographs of the Year" voting organized by Anadolu Agency (AA). After receiving information about the photos from Anadolu Agency Konya Regional Director Rıfat Yerlikaya, Prof. Dr. Aksoy chose Emrah Yorulmaz's photo titled "TOGG's First Journey" in the "news" category and Mustafa Hassona's photo titled "Innocence" in the "environment - life" category. In the "sports" category, Prof. Dr. Aksoy chose Aytaç Ünal's photo titled "Merve's Shuttle".

Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, "The 'Photos of the Year' voting organized by Anadolu Agency has now become a classic. I tried to choose the photographs that stand out on the agenda of both our country and the world. I especially tried to choose the photographs that create an agenda for our country and contribute to the national and spiritual interests of our country. In the environment - life category, I chose the "Innocence" photograph in the Israel - Palestine conflict in order to raise awareness in the world. Because I cared that both the awareness of people about that area should continue and the photographs that contribute to the transformation of the country should be highlighted in a sense."
