Selçuk University Faculty of Communication became one of the most awarded communication faculties by winning a total of 6 awards in the categories of "Layout", "Documentary", "Radio News Presentation" and "Website" in the 33rd Turkish Journalists Association Aydın Doğan Young Communicators Competition.
Turkish Journalists Association Aydın Doğan Young Communicators Competition, which is one of the most established competitions for students of the Faculty of Communication and plays a strong role in raising contemporary and qualified journalists in Türkiye, was held for the 33rd time this year. In the competition, where more than 20 thousand students have participated by producing projects so far, this year 62 students from 18 universities were deemed worthy of awards with 44 projects.
Selçuk University Faculty of Communication, which won a total of 6 awards in the categories of "Layout", "Documentary", "Radio News Presentation" and "Website", became one of the most awarded communication faculties. In the layout category, Şevval Bayram won first place with her project titled "Türkiye’s Cruel Island: Gökçeada" and Nazlı Yolbakan came second with her work titled "Photographer of the Land of Smiles". In the documentary category, Almina Yıldız and İlkay Çelik's project titled "Zeugma Mosaic Museum" won first place. In the field of Radio News Presentation, Sayım Emrealp Hazar and Berran Şahin's work titled "Selçuk Agenda" won first place, and Sudenur Özcan, Uğur Sağdıç and Nejlanur Belce's project titled "Are You in My Difference?" was deemed worthy of second place. In the Website category, Serhan Doğan's work titled "Pizoom.Com Türkiye's Short Film Digital Platform" won second place.
The Turkish Journalists Association Aydın Doğan Young Communicators Competition Award Ceremony, which is an important meeting place for both young journalists and sector representatives who advance the journalism profession every year, took place in a different format this year. The finalists of the competition will receive mentoring support from leading names in the industry to develop projects that will contribute to earthquake awareness this year. With these projects, which they will develop by the end of the year, young people will have the opportunity to start their careers with the communication trends and tools of the age, while also contributing to keeping the social memory alive in earthquake regions.
