8 awards to Selçuk Communication students in the Young Communicators Competition

Selçuk University Faculty of Communication students won 8 awards at the 32nd Young Communicators Competition organized in cooperation with the Aydın Doğan Foundation and the Turkish Journalists Association.

The award ceremony of the competition, which aims to train Faculty of Communication students as innovative, researching and inspiring journalists and media leaders of the future, was held online. Jury; 46 projects of 61 students from 16 universities were deemed worthy of awards in the fields of "Written", "Visual", "Audio" and "Internet Broadcasting".

 

SU Faculty of Communication Dean Prof. Dr. Enderhan Karakoç, in his statement, said that the 32nd Young Communicators Competition is a corporate competition that has been going on for years, explaining that many students in Turkey prepared for this competition about a year in advance, Karakoç stated that he was proud of his students who achieved success in the competition. Prof. Dr. Karakoç said, “We always experience the pioneering and proud of being the Faculty that received the most awards within the scope of the competition, including last year and the years before that. In this regard, the name of our Faculty and University is always heard. I would like to thank our teachers who contributed to the preparation of our students. Likewise, I wholeheartedly congratulate our students for their excitement, determination and success in the competitions. “I wish them continued success,” he said.

 

Prof. Dr. Karakoç stated that they are in a new structuring process in the digital media workshop within the Faculty and said, “I think that the number of categories and awards in the competitions will be much higher once the process is completed. The fact that our students participate in such competitions and achieve success creates a positive result for us as well as for the Faculty. “We are reaping the fruits of this result together.” he said.

8 SUCCESSES ACHIEVED BY SELÇUK İLETİŞİM IN THE COMPETITION

In the competition, Rabia Pınar, a student of Selçuk University Faculty of Communication, won the Strong Girls Strong Tomorrows Award with her documentary "Kördüğüm". In the documentary category, Mustafa Aydın received the first prize with his work titled "Haymatlos", and Gürkan Olmaç received the second prize with his work titled "An İstanbul Çilekeşi: Taxi Driver".

In the field of Radio Programming, Menşure Yorulmaz and Sefa Eryiğit won the first prize with their project titled "Bergen, the Woman of Pain", and Ahmet Hamdi Kerek and Ayşegül Özbayrak won the third prize with their radio program titled "İL'K'ADIN".

In the visual category, Leyla Nur Çevik and Nursultan Ural were awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award with "Yeşeren Hayaller".

In the field of Television News, Mustafa Aydın received the second prize with his news titled "Big Touches to Little Hearts".

Taner Özay won the third prize in the Internet Media Site category with his work titled "Green Future".
