The restoration of 4 rooms in the Gastroenterology ward of Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine Hospital was carried out with the support of philanthropists led by Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Korkmaz. Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy also attended the opening of the rooms.

Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine Hospital, which serves patients from Konya as well as regional cities, draws attention with its modern infrastructure. The restoration of 4 rooms in the gastroenterology service was led by Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Korkmaz, a faculty member in the Department of Gastroenterology, Department of Internal Medicine, and supported by philanthropists.

Speaking at the opening program, Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said, "Our aim is to serve our people in the best way. We want those who come to our hospital to find healing to be treated in very good facilities. I would like to thank Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Korkmaz and the philanthropists who supported the renovation of the rooms in the gastroenterology service. It is very important to raise scientists who are devoted to their country and who take their hands under the stones like Hüseyin Hocam, who works selflessly to bring young physicians to our country. I wish that the rooms added to our service will be beneficial."

Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Korkmaz, Faculty Member of Internal Medicine, Department of Gastroenterology, said, "It was a dream for my late mother. I would like to thank our Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, all our administrators, businessmen Gökmen Toprak and Tahir Erdoğan for encouraging us." After the speeches, Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy presented a certificate of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Korkmaz for his contributions.

The rooms were built by his son Hasan Yılmaz on behalf of Fatma Yılmaz, Kocabaş family on behalf of Ayşe - Ali Kocabaş, Korkmaz family on behalf of Recep Korkmaz and his son Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Korkmaz on behalf of Gülsüm Korkmaz.
