Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine has prepared an important project to facilitate the examination, examination and analysis procedures of disabled students. The project also offers positive gains to physician candidates preparing for professional life.

Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine has prepared the Barrier-Free Support Unit Social Project in order to assist the examination procedures of registered disabled students. For the students who will be examined at the hospital, the relevant Faculty or School Barrier-Free Student Unit Coordinator will contact the students involved in the project and make an appointment. If requested, students with disabilities will be accompanied by volunteer students determined by student representatives during the examination. Student examinations will be conducted in confidentiality. Among the aims of the project are to make students who are entitled to receive education at Selçuk University feel that they are not alone at the University and Faculty during their education, to provide convenience in their examinations and to show that they are sensitive to their problems in daily life.

Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Yavuz Selvi said, "The value we give to our disabled people makes us civilized. If we do not value them, we are not yet a developed country. For this purpose, Selçuk University aims to support disabled students while they are being examined. In line with the applications of our disabled students, our volunteer students make examination appointments for them and accompany them during the examination procedures. With this project, which is based entirely on volunteerism, we can support many students at our university."

Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine Student Representative Ömer Faruk Kırlar said, "The Barrier-Free Support Unit Social Project was prepared to solve the problems of disabled students at our university and to facilitate their work in the hospital. Our student friends who participate in the project are also informed about the functioning of the hospital before becoming a doctor, and they see the difficulties that the patient may encounter. The project will provide a great advantage to students in a professional sense."
