The official opening ceremony of the Small Animal Hospital, which is one of the largest hospitals in Turkey and one of the leading hospitals in Europe, was held by Selçuk University. 

Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, who came to Konya to make various contacts, also attended the opening ceremony of the Small Animal Hospital within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Selçuk University. Minister Varank cut the opening ribbon together with Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, Konya Governor Vahdettin Özkan, Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, representatives of public institutions and political parties, academicians and students.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister Varank said, "All treatment and surgeries of stray animals are carried out in this hospital. In this sense, there is a very good cooperation between local governments and Selçuk University. How to make a local government that respects the environment and all creatures? We see the best example of this here. I am proud to have a comprehensive Small Animal Hospital in Konya. This is how we show our respect and love for the environment and animals. May our hospital be auspicious." 

THE HOSPITAL IS AMONG THE MOST RESPECTED HOSPITALS IN EUROPE

After the opening ceremony, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank toured the units of the Small Animal Hospital and was informed about the work carried out by Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Prof. Dr. Seyfullah Haliloğlu, Chief Physician of the Hospital Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Erdem and unit managers. Minister Varank also chatted with the students working in the application areas at the Hospital in order to support their theoretical education and prepare themselves for business life by improving themselves.

The Small Animal Hospital within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Selçuk University is the largest in Turkey with an indoor area of 11 thousand square meters. The Hospital, which is among the leading hospitals in Europe in terms of both technical facilities and modernization of examination rooms, adds value to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Selçuk University and Konya. In the hospital, where around 25 thousand examinations are performed annually, surgeries and clinical examinations are carried out through modern laboratory-supported devices.

Minister Varank also examined the electric vehicles used for document transportation between faculties and units at Selçuk University. These vehicles, which are described as a revolution in the automobile industry, significantly reduce the fuel costs of private and public institutions.
