Kyrgyzstan Batken State University Rector Prof. Dr. Aidarbek Gyiazov and accompanying faculty members met Selcuk University Rector Prof. Dr. He Metin Aksoy at a meeting. Rector Aksoy said that they would be pleased to cooperate with Batken State University, which plans to establish a faculty of agriculture and animal husbandry, based on Turkey's academic experience in agriculture and animal husbandry.

Selcuk University Rector Prof. Dr. In his speech, Metin Aksoy stated that as the University, they are among the strongest universities in Turkey in the fields of research, scientific study and international projects, and noted that they provide education to 70,000 students, of which 5 thousand are international, within the scope of the University.

Pointing out that he lived in Kyrgyzstan for about 3 years, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said that the country needs work in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry. Stating that they would be pleased to cooperate with Batken State University in this sense, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, “My dear Rector, that's why you came to the right place. If there is to be a cooperation, the right place is Selcuk University. We are one of the rare universities in Turkey where studies could be conducted in the fields of agriculture and animal husbandry because Konya, where our university is situated, is among the most valuable agricultural regions of Turkey. At the same time, our Agricultural and Veterinary Faculties make important contributions to Konya in transferring modernization, transformation and especially international change in agriculture. We are always at the top in the fields of agriculture and veterinary in Turkey. We are the strongest University in the region. We are happy to share all of our cooperation and research experiences with Batken State University and our Kyrgyzstan brothers.”

Batken State University Rector Prof. Dr. Aidarbek Gyiazov said that they provide education to 11,500 students with more than 500 instructors. Stating that their university is the only university in Batken, Prof. Dr. Gyiazov said, “Batken is an agricultural city just like Konya. We do not have a faculty for agriculture and a school that trains engineers in our province. Therefore, we are planning to open the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary at Batken State University.” Prof. Dr. Gyiazov added that they would also visit different institutions in Turkey.

Selcuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İlhan Çiftci, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Kamil Beşoluk joined the meeting, too.

After the meeting, Batken State University Rector Prof. Dr. Aidarbek Gyiazov,  accompanying faculty members and Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy made investigations at Selcuk University Small Animal Hospital and Veterinary Faculty Production Facilities.
