"White Coat Ceremony" was organized at Selçuk University Faculty of Pharmacy. Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy and faculty members gave their aprons to the third and fourth year students. Future pharmacists experienced the excitement and pride of taking their first steps into their profession together with their families.

Selçuk University Faculty of Pharmacy's 2021 - 2022 academic year "White Coat Wearing Ceremony" was held at Sultan Alparslan Cultural Center.

Prof. Dr. Yavuz Bağcı, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, made the opening speech of the ceremony, which started with a music concert by Dilek Sabancı State Conservatory students. Prof. Dr. Bağcı noted that the Faculty of Pharmacy met its first students in the 2017-2018 academic year and continued its education life with successful steps in a short time, without compromising science and technology.

Stating that pharmacy is a profession as old as the history of mankind and will continue until doomsday, Dr. Pharmacist Dr. Harun Kızılay, Former President of the Turkish Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency of the Ministry of Health, said. Harun Kızılay said, "The white coat is health, cleanliness, responsibility and trust. If you love what you do, you will be successful. Protect and appreciate your profession. Be tolerant towards your patients. Be in solidarity with your colleagues."

Selçuk Pharmaceutical Warehouse Konya Branch Manager Hidayet Çelik emphasized that they contribute to the development of the sector by providing services to pharmacists in line with the requirements of the age without compromising the company motto, which they have determined as trust, balance and stability.

"WE WANT TO BE REMEMBERED WITH INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS"

Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy pointed out that Turkey will move forward to much better and stronger places with the students raised at Selçuk University and said that Selçuk University wants to be known for its international achievements. Stating that they value the scientific research projects of academicians for this, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, "Knowing that our students are the future of this country, we strive for them to receive education under better conditions. In 2021, we allocated 21 million liras for the projects of our academics. Savings in the public sector are very important, but we support scientific research to the fullest. Scientific studies put forward by our academics, such as vaccine projects in our Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Faculty of Medicine, make us happy."

"WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF BUILDING A GREAT AND STRONG TURKEY"

Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy concluded his speech with the following words "Since the day we took over, we have not left a unit we have not visited. We work day and night with love for the belief and responsibility we have for the children of this country. We know that we are not just a university. We are in Konya, which was the seat of the Seljuks, and at the same time, we are in the lands where the Anatolian yeast is played. We pass on the culture and values that make us who we are to future generations. Our students who have degrees in Turkey prefer Selçuk University. We are trying to build a great and powerful Turkey again. We are raising young people with this belief. As long as we are here, our work in this direction will continue."

Following the speeches, 86 third and fourth year students were given their white coats by Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, protocol members and academicians. The ceremony was attended by Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken, Prof. Dr. İlhan Çiftci, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Kamil Beşoluk, Konya Chamber of Pharmacists President Uzm. Pharm. Ahmet Hakan Koru, academicians, students and their families.
