A Cooperation Protocol was signed between Selçuk University and Konya Metropolitan Municipality regarding the joint use of the University's Apa Social Facilities in Çumra.

Speaking at the signing ceremony held in Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stone Building, Selçuk University Rector Prof.Dr.Metin Aksoy said, “The support provided by Konya Metropolitan Municipality is something that should be appreciated.I would like to thank our Konya Metropolitan Municipality.With the protocol, common and more efficient use of social facilities will be ensured;our joint activities will be more precious and valuable.It will ensure that our young people receive service in a higher quality and qualified environment, and the quality and rates of the spaces that our academics use to breathe in their work will increase.I would like to thank all stakeholders who contributed to the realization of the protocol.”

Stating that one of the important brands of Konya is Selçuk University, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay said, “Today, we are signing a protocol regarding the joint use of Apa Social Facilities.We are creating an important center for the development of our children's social lives as well as their education, in the area that we will use as a daily camping area for our children at the High School Medeniyet Academy and Bilgehane, especially during the high school years.This area, which 350 children can use every day, will be used together with Selçuk University from now on.I would like to thank our Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy for his valuable contributions.Hopefully, our children raised here will make a significant contribution to the future of our University in the future.”

With the cooperation, nature camps, family camps and scouting camps will be held at the Çumra Apa Camping Area, which has an area of 34 thousand 500 square meters, on weekends, especially for the students of Konya Metropolitan Municipality High School Civilization Academy (LIMA) and Bilgehane. The camping area, which is planned to host various organizations throughout the year, will also be allocated to many companies and institutions to hold events.
