Selçuk University (SU) and Konya Mufti's Office signed a cooperation protocol for sharing knowledge and experience. The protocol aims to contribute to the professional and academic development of religious officials, to enable academic staff and religious officials to exchange knowledge and experience, and to enable students of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences to participate effectively in the practice of religious service.

Within the scope of the protocol, it is aimed to increase the quality of service by collaborating in religious service activities, to encourage voluntary student to participate in Diyanet Youth and similar activities, as well as to carry out activities such as symposiums, conferences, workshops, commission studies, field research.

Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said in his speech that they hope to carry out important and productive works in line with the signed protocol. Prof. Dr. Aksoy stated that Selçuk University is a university that is the locomotive of the region and said: "We are a well-established university that is included in the YÖK Research and Candidate Research Universities list and ranked in the top 400 in the world ranking of young universities under the age of 50 according to the studies of Times Higher Education (THE). Our university is one of the most populated universities in the region and we have nearly 3 thousand academic staff and approximately 70 thousand students. We will mutually benefit and gain efficiency in the cooperation studies and joint activities we will carry out with our Provincial Mufti's Office for young people. We hope this. With joint work, we hope that both the mosques within our university and our academic and administrative staff and students will benefit from the work that will be carried out. I thank you very much, I wish it will be auspicious."

Konya Mufti Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Öge stated that universities are among the important institutions where knowledge is produced, shared and people are trained. Stating that Selçuk University is an influential university both in Türkiye and abroad, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Öge said: "Konya Mufti's Office is the second most important mufti's office of our Presidency of Religious Affairs in the provinces with the most personnel and the most mosques after Istanbul. In this respect, it is highly appreciable for us that two such well-established institutions come together for educational cooperation. For this reason, I would like to thank Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy and his administration. As institutions that provide religious services to people, we will make our best efforts to disseminate the knowledge and produce services. In our activities for university youth, we already have a number of programs, projects and activities to reach young people both inside and outside the university. On this occasion, I reiterate my belief that the educational cooperation and solidarity cooperation that will be beneficial to our youth and our people will be revived and realized with this protocol."

Following the speeches, the ceremony where the cooperation protocol was signed was attended by Prof. Dr. Ramazan Altıntaş, Dean of SU Faculty of Islamic Sciences.
