Selçuk University Faculty of Communication has achieved another success
Selçuk University Faculty of Communication has achieved another important success by being included in the list of only 8 institutions among 67 applications made within the scope of Erasmus+ Key Action 2 Partnerships for Higher Education (KA-220 HED) of the Directorate for European Union Education and Youth Programmes (Turkish National Agency) for 2023.
Under the leadership of Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdülkadir Gölcü, "Disaster Journalism: Preventing the News from Turning into a Disaster" under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdülkadir Gölcü, Faculty Member F. Betül Aydın Varol, Assoc. Assist. Muhammet Emin Çiftçi and Assist. Assist. Elif Kaya Güler also took part in the project. The basis of the Disaster Reporting project is based on the Bir Buçuk Degrees: Ecological Literacy and Climate Reporting programme carried out in cooperation with Selçuk University Faculty of Communication, Radio and Television Supreme Council and Konya Metropolitan Municipality Social Innovation Agency.
The project, which will produce a Disaster Reporting curriculum at universal standards, also aims to raise awareness among media professionals, media content producers and consumers on what to do before, during and after a disaster. In the 250 thousand euro budgeted project, the Radio and Television Supreme Council and Konya Metropolitan Municipality Social Innovation Agency as well as higher education institutions from Ukraine, Spain and Slovenia will take part as partners.
