526 young people have joined the media and communication sector, which is one of the indispensable elements of the technological and information age and whose importance is increasing day by day. Selçuk University Faculty of Communication gave its 25th semester graduates. The students were proud to graduate from their faculties, which broke new ground in Turkey, together with their professors and families.

The graduation ceremony of Selçuk University Faculty of Communication for the 2020-2021 academic year was held at Sultan Alparslan Cultural Center. Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken, Dean of the Faculty Prof. Dr. Enderhan Karakoç, Konya Regional Director of the Presidential Communications Directorate Tuncay Karabulut, academicians, students and their families attended the ceremony.

"OUR STUDENTS ARE OUR SOURCE OF PRIDE"

Emphasizing that they worked with great devotion to ensure that students were not victimized during the pandemic period, Selçuk University Faculty of Communication Dean Prof. Dr. Enderhan Karakoç said, "Today we are honored and happy that our esteemed students graduated from one of the most powerful universities in Turkey. Our students are a source of pride for both us and their parents. Do everything you do in your next life with love. Our wish is that you will make the future beautiful as communicators who can express their thoughts fearlessly within the framework of respect and morality, share their ideas freely, freely put forward their dreams, respect the ideas and lives of others, have the awareness of living in friendship and brotherhood with everyone, and are firmly attached to their flag, homeland and nation. I wish you to equip your future not only with what you have learned, but also with your spiritual beauty, and with this spirit, I wish you to guide the path of those who come after you. We believe that you are ready for this as graduates of Selçuk University Faculty of Communication." 

"DO NOT GIVE UP IN THE FACE OF DIFFICULTIES"

Noting that Selçuk University is one of the most prestigious universities in Turkey, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken said: "Graduates of the Faculty of Communication will play an important role in informing the public and will perform a sacred profession. You may face difficulties in your professional life, but do not give up. Always renew yourself. Because this profession is constantly renewing itself. Never stop communicating with your university and your professors. Even a minute is very important in the media sector. You need to be in the right place at the right time while reporting the news. You may have to work in difficult geographies. But the education you received at Selçuk University prepared you for the difficulties. Selçuk University Faculty of Communication offers important opportunities for students to improve themselves. We are a pioneering university in this regard. Our Dean Prof. Dr. Enderhan Karakoç's father Abdürrahim Karakoç was a journalist and writer. I commemorate him once again with mercy. I wish a good life to Prof. Dr. Enderhan Karakoç, who continues on his path."

After the speeches, Selçuk University Faculty of Communication 2020-2021 academic year valedictorian Sevim Can Erdal and the students who ranked first in the 2020-2021 academic year were given their certificates and diplomas, and the graduates were given their diplomas. The ceremony ended with a cap throwing ceremony.
