Selcuk University (SU) Faculty of Architecture and Design 2021-2022 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony was held with the participation of Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy. 253 students experienced the joy of graduation at the ceremony.

Selcuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said that at the ceremony held at the Sultan Alparslan Cultural Center, families could feel the pride and excitement of their sons, whom they sent at a young age, to graduate. Expressing that "seeing their children come to the best places" is one of the important moments for families, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, “May my Lord always bless the beauty and happiness of our children. May this happiness keep us together and continue our families. Why am I saying this? I would like to state that we, as the Selçuk University family, are also saddened by the accidents our students had in the last month and the fact that some of our families are going through this process in a sad way. On this occasion, I wish God's mercy on our students who passed away." said.

“WE TRY TO PROVIDE TRAINING AT INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS”

Prof. Dr. Aksoy stated that Selcuk University is a big family, and they are making efforts to achieve good and quality education standards and to transfer these to students. Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, “Even though we saw disadvantages during the epidemic, we made an effort to ensure that our students receive education at international standards. We also supported the work of our academicians within the framework of scientific research projects.”

Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design Prof. Dr. Nurgül Kılınç stated that 12 students from the Department of Handicrafts, 133 from the Department of Interior Architecture, 46 from the Department of Fashion Design, and 62 from the Department of Landscape Architecture came together to celebrate their graduation. Kılınç said: “As the Faculty of Architecture and Design, we aimed to train architects and designers who can produce creative and original designs required by the world markets, have pioneering ideas, are productive, and consider the needs of society, historical, cultural and artistic values. In order to achieve this goal, we have worked hard for 4 years together with our teaching staff and our valuable students, using all the facilities of our University and Faculty. At the point we have reached today, we think we have achieved this goal.”

Head of Interior Architecture Department Assoc. Dr. Rabia Köse Doğan, on the other hand, noted that they aim to train students who are researchers, professional ethics and moral values, in the light of history, in line with today's needs, connected to changing technology, within the universality of art and science.

After the speeches, the students were presented their diplomas. Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat, lecturers and families attended the ceremony.
