Selçuk University students won 3 Gold Awards at the 14th National Furniture Competition
Students of Selçuk University, Faculty of Architecture and Design, Department of Interior Architecture won 3 gold awards in the 14th National Furniture Competition.
Academicians, professionals, associate degree/ undergraduate students and elementary, middle and high school students competed in the design competition held in Istanbul under the coordination of the Ministry of Commerce, in cooperation with the Turkish Exporters Assembly and organized by the Central Anatolian Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters Association, with 4 main themes: home, office, kitchen-bathroom and smart furniture.
There were 1106 applications in the 14th National Furniture Competition, which has the highest participation among design competitions in Türkiye. 16 groups of 3rd and 4th year students from Selçuk University, Faculty of Architecture and Design, Department of Interior Architecture made it to the finals in the competition.
At the award ceremony held in Istanbul TİM Trade Complex, Merve Büyükbayram Doğan received the Bürotime Gold Award in the field of "Office Furniture" in the "Associate Degree-Undergraduate Student" category, Esra Sönmez received the Atagür Gold Award and Zehra Özer was entitled to receive the Lazzoni Gold Award in the field of “Home Furniture" in the "Associate Degree-Undergraduate Student" category.”
In her statement, Selçuk University Faculty of Architecture and Design Dean Prof.Dr.Rabia Köse Dogan said, “I would like to thank especially our esteemed Rector Prof.Dr. Metin Aksoy, Lecturer Dr. Hatice Çınar who trains the students of the Department of Interior Architecture with great devotion and our students.I sincerely congratulate our students who succeeded in 1106 projects and won 3 separate awards.We are proud on behalf of our University and Faculty, and we wish them continued success.”
