Selçuk University (SU) and Konya Metropolitan Municipality signed a cooperation protocol to provide training and internship opportunities for students in related fields at Sancak Fire Brigade Training Center.

Within the scope of the protocol, which aims to increase student competence, students of Selçuk University Kadınhanı Faik İçil Vocational School Civil Defense and Firefighting Program, Faculty of Health Sciences Emergency Aid and Disaster Management Department, Beyşehir Ali Akkanat School of Applied Sciences Emergency Aid and Disaster Management Department will be able to receive training.

Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said at the protocol ceremony held at Konya Metropolitan Municipality, that they have added a new one to the cooperation protocol between the Metropolitan Municipality and Selçuk University. Prof. Dr. Aksoy stated that he believes that the protocol will contribute to the training of young firefighters in better conditions and said, "I would like to thank the mayor very much. Firefighters have come to the forefront with the recent studies. We have requested support from the Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department for better training of young firefighters. I would like to thank them for not turning down our support."

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that Selçuk University has made great contributions to both the city and the municipality and said, "I would like to thank all academic staff and employees for their contribution to Konya. Today we are signing a serious protocol on fire brigade. Konya Fire Department is one of the strongest fire departments in Turkey. Our Konya Fire Brigade Training Center is the first and the largest TSE certified training center in Turkey. We provide serious trainings to firefighters from Turkey and abroad. With this protocol, our students will complete their training with the necessary team and equipment in our Sancak Fire Brigade Center. They will carry out their internships at the fire brigade center and will hopefully provide important services to all of Turkey."

After the speeches, Rector Prof. Dr. Aksoy and Metropolitan Mayor Altay signed the cooperation protocol.
