TEKNOFEST'21, the Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, where 20 thousand 197 teams and over 100 thousand young people applied, ended with the award ceremony. Selçuk University, which competed with 50 teams in 18 categories in the final, managed to be one of the rare institutions that won 3 awards.

3 TEAMS FROM SELÇUK UNIVERSITY TOOK THE STAGE IN THE FINAL

Selçuk Med SOS team from Selçuk University won the 1st place in the "Health and First Aid" category of the Technology for the Benefit of Humanity Competition. Team Advisor Specialist Sociologist Zehra Betül Şişman, Team Captain Arastou Shapouran, team members Burak Kaan Taşdemir, Aysan Nayebi and Hamed Ghorbani were presented their awards by Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu.

The Medar Team team, which competed in the "Educational Technologies" category at TEKNOFEST 2021, also came in 2nd place. İsmail Kapurtu, the captain of the team advised by Prof. Dr. Nadire Ünver Doğan, and team members Berna Aktaş, Büşra Aycan Deniz, Furkan Acar and Furkan Çalışkan. The Medar Team was awarded by Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the T3 Foundation, and Mustafa Varank, Minister of Industry and Technology.

The Young Makers team from Selçuk University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Machinery and Technologies Engineering came 3rd in the "Agricultural Technologies" category. Team Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Yavuz Şeflek, Team Captain Muhammet Celalettin Özer and member Sedat Demircialan received the award from Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of T3 Foundation, and Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology.

"TECHNOFEST OPENS NEW HORIZONS FOR OUR YOUTH"

Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy congratulated the teams that qualified for awards and made it to the finals at TEKNOFEST and said, "TEKNOFEST, of which we are proud to be a stakeholder, draws new horizons for our young people and gives them a broad vision. It is a source of pride for us that our young people, to whom we will entrust our future, take part in the national technology move and produce projects. As Selçuk University, we have mobilized all our opportunities for our students today and tomorrow as we did yesterday, and we continue to do so."

On August 31, TEKNOFEST started with the Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Competition at the Körfez Race Track and continued with the Rocket Competition at Aksaray Salt Lake, the International and High School Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Competition and the International Free Mission UAV Competition at Bursa Yunuseli Airport, and the Robotaxi-Mobile Autonomous Vehicle Competition at the Informatics Valley.  The Artificial Intelligence in Transportation Competition was held at TEKNOFEST21 on September 21-26, while the final of the Biotechnology Innovation Competition was held at the TEKNOFEST area on September 21-25. The top three projects in the High School Students Polar Research Projects Competition and the top three projects in the University Students Research Project Competitions were exhibited in the TEKNOFEST area. The award ceremony of all competitions was held at TEKNOFEST21 on September 25 and 26. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Nobel Prize winner Turkish scientist Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar also attended TEKNOFEST'21. 20 thousand 197 teams and over 100 thousand young people from 84 countries and 81 provinces of Turkey competed in the final of TEKNOFEST. Selçuk University competed with 50 teams in 18 categories.

Within the scope of TEKNOFEST, which aims to increase Turkey's human resources trained in the fields of science and engineering, more than 3 million TL was awarded to the teams that ranked in the technology competitions organized in 21 different categories.
