Academic General Assembly Meeting at Selçuk University Faculty of Tourism

Selçuk University (SU) Faculty of Tourism 2021-2022 Academic Year Academic General Assembly Meeting was held under the chairmanship of Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy.

Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said at the meeting held at Keykubad Mansion that the Faculty of Tourism has gained a positive momentum. Prof. Dr. Aksoy expressed his belief that Selçuk University will come to better places with the contributions and support of the academic staff and said, "Thanks to the diligent academics at our university, many units of our university have started to achieve very good success in a short time. We are happy and proud of these. We are trying to support our Faculty of Tourism to reach better levels. The faculty building is the biggest problem. We plan to build the Faculty of Health Sciences with the contribution and support of the Ahmet and Nezahat Keleşoğlu Foundation. We are building the Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Islamic Sciences buildings. Our efforts to bring the Faculty of Health Sciences to its own building continue."

Prof. Dr. Aksoy added that they have also started working to bring the Piramit Café Application Kitchen to the Faculty of Tourism.

Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Ümit Gürbüz stated that they aim to make SU Faculty of Tourism an ecole. Stating that their work for accreditation and Tourism Week activities is ongoing, Gürbüz said that they want to create added value for the kitchen by offering the products prepared by the students of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts to consumers. Gürbüz noted that they will also organize award-winning cooking competitions and gastronomy festivals as a faculty.

Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Kamil Beşoluk and faculty members attended the meeting.

Rector Prof. Dr. Aksoy and the accompanying faculty members also visited the Faculty of Tourism Application Kitchen in Keykubad Mansion and wished the students of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts success in their studies.
