Selcuk University will represent Turkey
Selçuk University Arabic Language and Literature Department Arabic Debate Team came first in Turkey in the "Arabic Debate Competition" organized by Qatar Debate and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University. The students will represent Turkey in the "International Debate Competition" to be held in Qatar.
The final of the "Turkish Inter-University Arabic Debate Competition" organized by Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University (FSMVU) and Qatar Debate Center (Qatar Debate) was held at FSMVU's Haliç Campus. In the final of the competition, which was organized as part of the cooperation signed between FSMVU and Qatar Foundation on December 7, Selçuk University Arabic Language and Literature Department Arabic Debate Team won the first place, while Ibn Haldun University Faculty of Islamic Sciences debate team came second.
Bilal Erdoğan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ibn Haldun University, emphasized the strong ties between Turkey and Qatar and the importance of Arabic in their relations. Erdoğan said that the increase in the quality of Arabic education is also an indicator of the deepening relations between Turkey and Qatar.

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kazım Ürün, Director of Selçuk University School of Foreign Languages and Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the Faculty of Letters, said: "The students of our department won the first place in the Turkish Inter-University Arabic Debate Competition held in Istanbul and attended by student groups from private and public universities from all over Turkey. Our students, who are a source of pride for our university, will represent our country in the International Arabic Debate Competition to be held in Qatar in March 2022. The success of our students, who proudly announced the name of our university, warmed our hearts on these cold winter days. I sincerely congratulate them and wish them continued success."
