Selçuk University (SU) School of Foreign Languages (SFL) organized an opening festival for its students. Music concerts, art workshops, a photography exhibition and an archery demonstration were organized within the scope of the events. Lecturer. Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken stated that Selçuk University is an ancient and deep-rooted university with more than 70 thousand students and said, "You have not been able to step into the university for almost 2 years due to the pandemic. Therefore, the paradigm of life has changed. You came to school, it is not easy to concentrate. In this respect, such orientation and events, student - faculty member meeting, faculty member - administrative staff meeting are very important."

Prof. Dr. Eken stated that as a university, in addition to its strong academic staff, its cultural, sportive, artistic and social opportunities are comprehensive.

SFL Director Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kazım Ürün wished students success in the new academic year. Stating that knowledge and wisdom are expressed together, Prof. Dr. Ürün said, "Knowledge means information, science. As universities, we are centers that distribute knowledge. In terms of knowledge, as the unit providing services in foreign languages, we will give the best in all languages including English, Arabic, French, German, Russian. You will learn in the best way with great enthusiasm. Our country needs qualified people. Is knowledge alone important? No. We need to support it with wisdom. Wisdom is ethical values. You should make an effort to be useful to your family, your environment and your country."

Following the opening speeches, a singing concert was presented by the faculty members of the SU Dilek Sabancı State Conservatory.
