Selcuk University School of Foreign Languages ​​2021 – 2022 Academic Board Meeting was held with the participation of Rector Prof. Dr.Metin Aksoy. In the program also Interpreting Laboratory of the Department of Translation and Interpretation was opened.

Selcuk University School of Foreign Languages ​​2021 - 2022 Academic Board Meeting made the opening speech of the School Director Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kazım Ürün said, “Our classrooms in our preparatory unit are equipped with tools suitable for language teaching, smart boards, computers, projectors and digital books suitable for them. Our classes do not exceed 25 students for a healthy language teaching. Our students are placed in classes according to the results of the placement test at the beginning of each year.”

Stating that they always try to be together with the students, Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy also said, “From the moment we took over the task, we have taken many steps towards the efficient use of physical spaces. Walking paths were built without cutting down any trees so that our academics and students could breathe easily. The support given to the scientific research projects of our academicians was increased. So much so that a resource of 21 million TL was transferred in 2021. In the 6-month period, support for scientific research projects exceeded 18 million TL. By the end of the year, this figure will reach 30 million TL. Many universities dream of reaching our numbers in the coming years. Because we believe in our academics. You are raising the future of this country. You have a strong infrastructure in your hands so that our future generations will grow up well.” said.

Emphasizing that Selcuk University is trying to be the locomotive and shining star of Anatolia, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, “We protect the personal rights of our academicians. We expect our academicians to conduct the lessons efficiently. Whatever ideology or opinion you have, do your job well. Raise children well. The era is changing. The international arena is changing. Do not put your own interests above the children of this country and the institutions of this nation. We try to use public resources sparingly. We want our students to receive education with up-to-date and international materials. We care about raising young people who have local and national values, our own culture and our own identity. Afterwards the Interpreting Laboratory of the Department of Translation and Interpreting was opened. Giving information about the laboratory, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Head of the Department of Translation and Interpretation of the School of Foreign Languages ​​Prof. Dr. Onur Köksal said, “The system in the laboratory is the latest system in Turkey. It is a more advanced system than other universities. Here the student can write, read, listen and speak at the same time. Our teachers can directly intervene with students. Arabic and English translations can be made at the same time through translators.”
