A student from Selçuk University Faculty of Communication won the first prize in the "International Student Awards 2021" competition organized by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).

At the ceremony held at the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Conference Hall, Labib Faisal Khan, a student of the Department of Journalism, was awarded the first prize in the "Media-Communication/Documentary" category among 892 works participating in the competition.

Labib Faisal, who won the first prize with his work titled "Beautiful Badarganj (My hometown)", which deals with the local culture and historical life of Bangladesh, said that the knowledge and experience he gained at Selçuk University Faculty of Communication brought him this success. Khan said, "I am grateful to my professors who always helped me." Khan, who is currently studying for his master's degree in Journalism at Selçuk University, said that he did not prepare his award-winning work with the aim of entering any competition; his main motivation when starting this work was to promote his country by using the knowledge he gained at the University and to produce a useful work, and that he was proud that his work was deemed worthy of the award.

Speaking at the award ceremony, YTB President Abdullah Eren stated that Turkey Scholarships is not just a scholarship program; the scholarship program is carried out for a common ideal and a common vision of the future. Mr. Eren asked the Turkey Scholarship students to continue their "voluntary ambassadorship" and promote Turkey Scholarships in their countries.

This contest, which is regularly organized by YTB every year, is held in order for international students studying in Turkey to convey their knowledge and experience in academic, social and cultural fields; to produce various works in this context and to support valuable ideas.
