1800 saplings were planted by Selçuk University Faculty of Agriculture within the scope of 100 Events on the 100th Anniversary of the Republic.

Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken expressed his pleasure in coming together in a meaningful and important event at the beginning of the Turkish Century. Stating that it is a privilege to be a student at Selçuk University, Prof. Dr. Eken said that in addition to educational and social facilities, approximately 60 percent of the campus has green areas. Stating that the majority of this area is a park, Prof. Dr. Eken stated that the sapling planting event is important for future generations and that trees contribute to the living ecosystem. Prof. Dr. Eken thanked those who contributed to the organization of the event.

Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Sait Gezgin stated that they came together on the National Afforestation Day within the scope of 100 Events in the 100th Anniversary of the Republic. Explaining that the event was organized with the plan of creating the "100th Anniversary Forest of the Republic", Prof. Dr. Gezgin added that they aim to increase the number of saplings reaching the soil in the area.

Academic and administrative staff and students attended the event held near Büyük Selçuklu Student Dormitory.
