Aşure served at Selcuk University

Aşure, which symbolizes unity and solidarity, has an important place in Turkish culture. So much so that almost everywhere in our country, Aşure is served in homes, public and private institutions. Selçuk University has once again sweetened the hearts with its traditional Aşure treat.

Selçuk University did not break the tradition this year, and Aşure was served at Alaeddin Keykubat Campus for the month of Muharram. Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken, Prof. Dr. İlhan Çiftci, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Kamil Beşoluk, academic and administrative staff and students attended the program.

Stating that Aşure also means unity and solidarity, Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said, " Aşure is also considered as an expression of sharing and unity. We hope that it will be instrumental in our unity. Because the differences and mixtures in the Aşure express a mosaic. The Turkish-Islamic world aims to act together as in this mosaic. Aşure has become a tradition at Selçuk University. This tradition will be kept alive after us."
