A White Coat Ceremony was organized by Selçuk University Faculty of Dentistry on the occasion of 22 November Dentists Day and Community Oral and Dental Health Week.

The ceremony held at the Sultan Alparslan Cultural Center was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Kalaycı, academicians, students and their families attended.

Making the opening speech of the ceremony, Endodontics Department faculty member Prof. Dr. Sema Belli said, “There are currently more than 100 Faculty of Dentistry in our country. “Be proud of yourself, because we are the ninth Faculty of Dentistry opened in Turkey.” said.

Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Abdullah Kalaycı said, “Our students, who wear their white coats, make a symbolic entrance into the profession. They will now begin to use the theoretical and practical training they have received on the patient. Our faculty, which has 38 faculty members and more than 130 assistants, provides education in 8 main branches of science and has trained thousands of dentists to date.” he said.

Following the speeches, certificates were given to the students who were entitled to receive honorary certificates, and a plaque was given to Hulusi Sönmez, General Manager of Imicryl Dental Company, for his contributions to the Faculty.

At the end of the White Coat Ceremony held for 3rd grade students, 125 students were given their gowns by academics.
