A photo exhibition and charity bazaar event was organized by Selçuk University Faculty of Islamic Sciences with the theme of support for Gaza.

Selçuk University Faculty of Islamic Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Ramazan Altıntaş stated that Israel has been unjustly attacking Gaza since October 7, 2023, and that they condemned the massacre. Stating that they wish all consciences to take action on this issue, Altıntaş said, “The world has already declared that the murder of innocent children and mothers and the total destruction of hospitals, mosques and houses is a genocide. Despite all the efforts to stop this massacre as soon as possible, the world's silence unfortunately deepens discrimination. I wonder what kind of movement would there be in the world if there were no Muslims killed? We need to think about this too. "As a nation and the entire Islamic world, we will strive to end this oppression and bloodshed as soon as possible, not only in our prayers but also in our actual prayers." he said.

Stating that they aim to raise awareness about Palestine with the photography exhibition, Altıntaş noted that they aim to contribute to the Palestinian people, at least to some extent, with the bazaar event.

Selçuk University Faculty of Islamic Sciences Deputy Dean Assoc. Dr. Fatma Şeyma Boydak stated that they determined the theme of "Support to Gaza" in order to prevent the brutality in Palestine and heal the wounds. Stating that there were 25 works in the exhibition, Boydak said, “We organized our exhibition to reveal the drama in Gaza and to raise awareness. Following this, we organized a food and book bazaar to support our brothers. We will deliver all the income to our brothers in Gaza through the Konya Provincial Mufti's Office and the Diyanet Foundation. We hope that we will heal their wounds to some extent. “We would like to thank everyone who contributed and supported our program.” he said.

Academic and administrative staff and students attended the event held in the foyer area of ​​the Faculty of Islamic Sciences.
