The importance of early diagnosis of cancer was emphasized at the Cancer Screening Programs Panel organized by the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Faculty of Medicine, Selçuk University and the Department of Fashion Design, Faculty of Architecture and Design. In this context, two exhibitions were opened within the scope of the Project of Garment Design for Gynecological Oncological Awareness Raising.

Selçuk University Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. İlhan Çiftci and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Kamil Beşoluk, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Yavuz Selvi, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design Prof. Dr. Nurgül Kılınç, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Ahmet Dalkıran, faculty members and students attended the panel held at the Selçuk University Museum.

Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İlhan Çiftci said in his speech that as a university, we have experienced the closest example of the successes achieved in multidisciplinary studies at TEKNOFEST. Stating that the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Technology have won important degrees in the field of education and health as a result of their multidisciplinary studies, Prof. Dr. Çiftci said, "As a result of multidisciplinary studies at TEKNOFEST, we received first and second prizes in health and education services. I would like to thank our friends for their success. They made us proud. Here, our friends have shown how successful studies can be carried out in different disciplines and how a project that receives scientific research support together with the Faculty of Architecture and Design on an important issue such as cancer can come out. We thank them. We follow this with satisfaction and happiness. I would like to thank those who contributed to the panel."

THE IMPORTANCE OF CANCER SCREENING WAS EXPLAINED

Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design Prof. Dr. Nurgül Kılınç stated that art and medicine are intertwined in many fields. Prof. Dr. Kılınç stated that art has a universal language and explained its contributions in identifying and solving the problems of society.

Project Executive Researcher. Assist. Prof. Dr. Burcu Başaran noted that they organized the program to raise awareness on early diagnosis of cancer.

Panel Organizer Prof. Dr. Özlem Seçilmiş expressed the importance of the program in terms of exchange of ideas.

Prof. Dr. Çetin Çelik, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine, thanked those who contributed to the organization of the panel.

After the opening speeches, the panel was chaired by Prof. Dr. Çetin Çelik and Prof. Dr. Nurgül Kılınç.  In the panel, Dr. Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bilgi "Cervical Cancer Screening", Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Acar "Colon Cancer Screening", Prof. Dr. Lecturer Emine Uysal "Breast Cancer Screening", Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Acar "Colon Cancer Screening". Prof. Dr. Emine Uysal made presentations titled "Breast Cancer Screening".

EXHIBITIONS PREPARED FOR AWARENESS WERE OPENED

Following the panel, two exhibitions prepared with the financing of Selçuk University Scientific Research Projects Coordinatorship within the scope of Gynecological Oncological Awareness Raising Garment Design Project were opened.

Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat, in his speech at the opening of the exhibitions, said, "It was a very nice event where two different fields met, both as a panel and an exhibition. I would like to thank our professors from the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Architecture and Design for their efforts."
