Meram District Governor Dr Bayram Yılmaz, who expressed his happiness to be at the conference, gave information to the students about the profession of district governor.
Meram District Governor Yılmaz said, "District governorship is a qualified profession if you are going to work in the public sector. It is open, promising future. If you have leadership qualities, if you want to serve the country in every field, if you have a social personality, if you consider your energy sufficient, this field is about you. You can travel all over Turkey thanks to your profession. At the same time, you have the opportunity to see and get to know different places within the scope of education programmes abroad. It is an active profession where you can spend your energy to the fullest, and it has both convenience and difficulties."
Underlining that it is necessary to use all the powers given by the state in a modest manner in the profession of district governorship, Yılmaz said, "You need to protect yourself from the stains that you will encounter in the future, you need to control your ego. You should stay away from issues that should not be recorded in your criminal record. The most important feature in this profession is to stay clean. Honesty in state and commercial life is important at the cost of death. In addition to these, sincerity and endeavour are also very important. A district governor should visit the region he is responsible for, meet with tradesmen, citizens and mukhtars, listen to them, and report the deficiencies he sees to the relevant institutions after identifying them."
Stating that the district governorship exam can be won with diligence and disciplined work, District Governor Yılmaz gave the following advice to the students during the interview process: "When entering the interview, first of all, you will be confident in yourself, you should dress simply and cleanly. You need to reflect your seriousness. You can watch informative videos about posture positions. Since there is an interview after the written exam, knowledge is generally not measured at this stage."
Speaking about the exam process, Candidate District Governor Tarık Yerlikaya said, "In the exam, questions are asked from 7 subjects in total. There were 140 questions in the last exam. The determining factor in the exam is human rights and economics courses. My advice to you is to focus on these courses, because the questions in this field can be challenging. You need to adjust your study tempo well. You should spend at least 7-8 hours a day for studying. In the interview, you need to be self-confident."
The programme ended after the presentation of gifts.
