Selçuk University Faculty of Health Sciences organized a conference on Narco Truck and Combating Addiction within the scope of "100 Events in the 100th Year of our Republic". Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy also attended the conference.

 Delivering the opening speech of the conference held at Sultan Alparslan Cultural Center, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Emine Arslan said, "With our slogan 'Healthy Youth for a Strong Turkey' on the 100th anniversary of our Republic, young people, who are the architects of our future, have a lot of work to do. As Selçuk University administration and academicians, we will always support you on this path. Our university has always been a pioneer in the fight against addiction. Using cigarettes, alcohol, drugs or other substances that leave destruction is not a sign of growth. Do not say 'my will is strong, nothing can happen from one time', know how to say no."

Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, Rector of Selçuk University, said, "As the university administration, we strive to take our university to greater heights. Our effort is to bring out strong young people in the construction of a great Turkey that is free from its shackles and to build a great Turkey with the success of young people. Your families entrusted you to us. We will deliver them in the best way, by equipping them with the best education. Today, the threat to Turkish youth is greater. Therefore, do not see yourselves as ordinary. The academic success of young people with good morals, good upbringing and respect is more valuable. Protect yourself from all kinds of addictions. Societies with healthy and successful individuals always make a difference."

At the end of the conference, Police Officer İsmail Akbulut from the Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch of the Konya Police Department provided detailed information on substance abuse, drug addiction and the fight against addiction.

Selçuk University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences organized an Anti-addiction Information Training within the scope of "100 Events in the 100th Year of our Republic".

Selçuk University Vocational School of Health Services Lecturer. Assist. Özlem Erdem stated that addiction is a phenomenon that negatively affects the individual, family, environment and society. Erdem explained that in addition to alcohol, drugs, cigarettes and similar substances, habits such as internet use, shopping and gambling are among the addictive elements; Erdem made a presentation on topics such as the definition of addiction, sphere of influence, protective factors in substance addiction, addiction components, addiction cycle.

The information training continued with a presentation on the fight against addiction by Police Officer İsmail Akbulut from the Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch of Konya Police Department.
