Selçuk University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences 2006 graduates Dr. Mehmet Mut, Head of Strategy Development of the Ministry of Interior and Tatvan District Governor Tekin Erdemir came together with students at the "Student-Graduate Meeting" organized by the Department of Political Science and Public Administration and Selçuk University Student Council within the scope of Career Days.

 

"Career Planning After Graduation: Opportunities, Experiences, Suggestions" in the conference hall of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Konya Governor Vahdettin Özkan, Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İlhan Çiftci, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Mehmet Göküş, faculty members and students attended the program.

 

In his speech at the opening of the program, Prof. Dr. Orhan Gökce, Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, said that Selçuk University graduates are working at different levels of the state. Stating that graduates are the references of universities, Gökce said, "Dr. Mehmet Mut, Tekin Erdemir, Dr. Abdullah Şengönül, who are among us as speakers to share their experiences with our esteemed students, are among our graduates. We are proud and happy when we see our students achieving their goals. It is very valuable for us that they are here to contribute to our students in the department they graduated from by showing loyalty.  In this context, this meeting was held to create a vision for our valuable students. Their knowledge, experience and guidance will be horizon-opening for our students. I hope that our students will take part in such an event 10-15 years from now."

 

After the opening speech, the program moderated by Dr. Abdullah Şengönül from the Personal Data Protection Authority started.

 

Dr. Mehmet Mut, Head of Strategy Development at the Ministry of Interior, shared his experiences on the process of education and district governorship. Stating that the group of friends is also important in achieving success, Mut talked about the advantages of having the habit of reading, learning a foreign language and having academic equipment.

 

Tatvan District Governor Tekin Erdemir said that being a district governor is a profession that interacts with all segments of society. Stating that students should have dreams during their education process, Erdemir added that Selçuk University has made significant contributions to the education of students.

 

Prof. Dr. Abdullah Şengönül expressed the value of not giving up in order to achieve success.

The program ended with the presentation of plaques to the speakers after the question and answer session.
